The Arctic Yoga Retreat

If you are looking for a refreshing adventure away from your everyday life, join us in a dynamic yoga retreat in the powerful Icelandic nature. The Arctic Yoga Retreat in Iceland combines the healing energy of the arctic nature and the ancient science of yoga.

The Retreat

This retreat is a combination of yoga practices and outdoor nature activities. Each day starts with a two-hour morning practice. The yoga classes will be powerful vinyasa flow classes with a long rejuvenating relaxation at the end of each session. The classes will be diverse with different themes. Yoga is a powerful way to create more balance in your life and to connect to your inner spirit.

During the afternoon we will enjoy fresh air in our outdoor trips, hiking or visiting beautiful locations such as Gullfoss waterfall and the geysers. We will use the opportunity to do some stretching and pranayama breathing exercises out in the crisp Icelandic air.

The schedule will be balanced so that you will have free time to explore the environment or simply to rest. In the evenings we will offer Modern-day Meditation® classes and deep relaxation, which are perfect if you want to unwind and connect with your inner spirit after an adventurous day.

Who is the retreat for?

Both new and experienced yogis are welcome. You don't need to have prior yoga experience to enjoy this retreat - it is suitable for those who love being in the great outdoors, those who love yoga as well as those who are curious and seek adventure.

This trip is for anyone who is open to discovering new things in their environment and within themselves.

Day 2, Monday: Meditation and relaxation

We will start the day by doing yoga before having breakfast. After breakfast we'll have some time to rest before going out and getting acquainted with the surroundings.

Hveragerði village is located in a geothermal area with boiling hot springs around town. These are used for domestic heating as well as for greenhouses, where vegetables are grown.

In the afternoon we'll visit a branch of the Agricultural University of Iceland, where gardening amongst other things, is taught.

After our morning routine of yoga, breakfast and relaxation, we'll take a hike starting with the hot spring area before continuing to one of the valleys above the village.
